This boat had the hull modified and the rating adjusted to SP FS = 102.  It later had the mast replaced with a taller rig and the SP FS adjusted to 93.  The present owner has cut the mast so that all of the rig dimensions match the standard C&C 39                                         dimensions except that the J is 0.08’ or 1” shorter than standard.

Toronto west voted to remove the -9 penalty that was given due to the taller rig.

Appeals

Archambault 35

With the spinnaker changes voted in by PHRF LO, the rating on this boat changed from SP FS = 84 to

SP FS = 72.

The Appelant’s were told of the change and asked if they would like to withdraw the appeal.  They voted to go ahead with the appeal.

The appeal was denied as the new rating would make a large impact on the existing race results.  The Archambault is a 3 year old boat that has fairly new sails and is quite well prepared and sailed.  It regularly races in IRC where it rates the same as                                                 one of the J 35’s,  which regularly beats it.  One of the handicappers present regularly sails on the J 35 that the Archambault races against and suggested that the Archambault 35 should not rate any faster than the J 35.

C&C 121

This is an appeal left over from last year, it was originally sent to Central Council which has not had time to handle it, so Toronto West again looked into it.

Based on the boats latest IRC rating which converts to a PHRF LO rating of 63, the group voted to give +3 to the FS SP.
