Meeting Minutes

New Boat Classes:

1.  Hunter 326

Item: Both the Hunter 320 and the Hunter 326 are identical boats, different model years.  Only difference noted: 250 lbs displacement between the two.

M/S: Bob Porter

Motion: 

Due to the fact that there is no difference between the Hunter 320 and the Hunter 326, motion is to RENAME the boat(s) collectively as Hunter 320/326 and Hunter 320/ 326 SD

NOTE : Re-issuance of Certificates will be required. Also, these classes should be added to the AKA List.

2. Catalina 400-1

Item: No distinguishable differences between the Catalina 400 Mark 1 and the Catalina 400 Mark 2, and therefore the Mark 1 does not require its own class.

Motion: Rename the Catalina 400-1 FK to the Catalina 400-1/2 FK

Motion: Set handicap for the Catalina 400-1/2 (Standard Deep Keel) to 126 (FS)/ 141 (NFS) (6 second difference for additional keel depth)

3.  Code 0 Sails on Mini Transat boats

Item: A rating is required for 3 mini-transat boats that will be competing in the Lake Ontario 300 race.  Each boat is equipped with what is considered a “code 0” sail - a hybrid of a spinnaker and a genoa.

M/S: John Crawley

Motion: For the purpose of the Lake Ontario 300 only, these 3 exclusive mini-transat boats will be assigned a PHRF-LO “Undefined Sail” rating with a penalty of 6 seconds.
