  2. Grievances
    None

  3.        Other Class items
    1. Mod Boats - (C&C 121 MOD) what is a mod? - Adam Farkas
      - In summary it is a ‘Siister ship’ to the class, one has CF mast, one has an Aluminum mast.  Mod can be removed from name, and Adjustment made in rating for difference of masts.
      - Resolved,
    2. Dufour 36 Classic - John Crawley
       - Discussion of discrepancies found with measurements and keels.  Possible effect it may have on rating.
-In comparing these findings with what was on file, the resulting change in rating was found to be insignificant

      Action:
Update the class specs using the Dufour 36 Specs as listed in John’s spread sheet and converted to feet from metres
    3. Carrera 290 - mod boat rated but original rating may need reviewed – Owen
      –   Looked at information on hand, compared with rating given, all OK does not require review.
      - John Crawley noted this boat is also known as a KC 29

4)    Handicapping items:

  1. a) SPINNAKER:

No changes or reviews

  1. b) MAINSAIL:

No changes or reviews

  1. c) Jib:
  1. Free Flying Genoas/Code Zero for Point to Point racing - Adam, Jamie & Kevin
    For review:
    UK Sailmakers - flying Jib
    - When we get to looking at P2P handicaps, we will address the Code 0

  2. Measurement of all Jibs to identify illegal sails – Owen
    - Collect all sails measurements so we can identify Illegal sails

  1. d) Masts - CF vs AL adjustment - Owen
    From MARCH meeting:

Should we modify the adjustment (+/-3) for boats LOA <40?
Based on other regions calculations, we should look at changing the adjustments between CF vs AL masts to (-/+ 3), for boats that are under 40’ LOA instead of the (-/+6) we currently implement.

Diana supplied a printout of what boats it would affect, in order for it to be reviewed. We only have 2 boats that are over 40’

Motion:  That the ASP miscellaneous adjustment of Aluminum to CF and CF to Aluminum, be change of +/- 3 secs vs +/- 6 secs, M/S: Jamie Dike/ Bill Visser

Note:  To be presented at AGM for Implementation in the 2024 Season unless the members vote to implement it in 2023.

  1. e) Electric Drive as new Prop with adjustment- Mike Brown
       - this is like a Torpedo, similar to a SDR
           - doesn’t generate much drag
           - engine center of gravity changes about 1’
           - we don’t have a standard for this particular type of drive, thought it worthwhile to discuss how to rate these type of drive.
            - is it different enough to warrant acknowledgement of the difference?
            - Need more study and collect more information, with further discussion

  2. f)Keels as Certificate adjustment -Bill Visser

If someone has a different keel from the rest in the Class, we usually create a Modified class for this boat.  Question is, do we now change that as Adjustment in the Class instead of creating another Class specific for this change.

            - One Design Classes do not change (there is no adjustments for these classes, it’s all based on every boat being identical)

Bill will take this for discussion with Adam & Diana to find the correct wording to describe this.

5) Other items:

  1. Recording multiple Spinnakers - Adam

Diana suggested she can make a form where the measurements can be entered and it will be able to tell if the sail is legal or illegal. If this is wanted.
Action: Diana will create a new form for 2023 to be used as a tool to identify sails.

6) Projects and Initiatives:

  1. Point to Point ratings - Owen, Jamie
    From March meeting:
Action: Owen would like to run his P2P recommendation formula for this season, and then present his findings at the end of the season.  – Approved

With Owen’s findings he has created his P2P use recommendation, using 4 criteria
  1. No need for a P2P rating for Non-Flying Sails boat
    - what we have Works
  2. If you want 95% of the benefits of P2P use the Alternative PHRF conversion of 650/(550 + PHRF TOD)
    -This requires No Model Changes
  3. Remove the sprit credit
    - Likely easily done in the “master model”
  4. Apply the WL10 less AP10 offset
    - Major surgery to the “master model”

  5. b) CTP discount- Adam Farkas
    - On Hold

  6. c) Sym Spin on a Cernterline - From March meeting:
TAC to review Asym vs Symm on a Sprit pole.

  7. c) Budget Review for Projects - for Executive (Max 30 min)
-Working on Certificate Holder Keels - Diana with Adam, will present findings at March meeting.
